Concrete Scanning

Concrete Scanning

Our concrete scanning service offers a vital layer of protection for your projects. We specialize in detecting hidden hazards like steel reinforcement, tendons, electrical cables, and pipes, at depths of up to 300 mm. This information is invaluable in preventing costly mistakes, such as cutting post-tension tendons or cables. Ground penetrating radar is the main tool used by WeCor to find objects or gaps in concrete slabs. We are able to pinpoint the precise location of these objects as well as what is concealed within the slab thanks to this technology. WeCor is a non-destructive imaging and detection technique that sends a radio signal into a concrete building. Any material that the radio wave comes into contact with causes it to bounce, producing readings that show these “bounces” as parabolas. This reading is interpreted by a skilled WeCor technician to identify the kind of material found.

Benefits of Concrete Scanning

Benefits of nondestructive scanner imaging are evident. Real-time metallic and nonmetallic object detection enables you to drill, cut, or core with a lower risk of damaging expensive wire, pipes, or structural reinforcement. Our quick and effective concrete scanner uses ground penetrating radar to provide critical information on the depth of the concrete, items inside the concrete, and any potential air pockets that cannot be seen from the surface. These are the primary advantages:
